Task types

Seven reCAPTCHA task types: v2, v2 Enterprise, v3 and v3 Enterprise, with and without your proxy.

How to tell the version#

  • v2 — the “I'm not a robot” checkbox, or only a badge in the corner (invisible v2). The page loads recaptcha/api.js and the widget has data-sitekey.
  • v3 — nothing to click. The page calls grecaptcha.execute(sitekey, {action}) and sends the token with the form or an XHR request.
  • Enterprise — the page loads recaptcha/enterprise.js and calls grecaptcha.enterprise.*.
  • Not sure? Open DevTools → Network and look at the anchor request: its k parameter is the site key, the path shows api2 or enterprise.

With or without a proxy#

Proxyless types are solved from our IP addresses and work for most sites. Pick a type with your proxy when the site checks that the token was obtained from the same IP as the request that uses it. See Proxies.
